The gorgeous coastal city of Manta, Ecuador is known for having some of South America's most breathtaking beaches. Nearby you'll find Los Frailes (a pristine secluded white sand beach that is the definition of paradise), Puerto Lopez (incredible for some whale watching), and el Murcielago, (golden sand beach with a scenic pier). Manta is home to Ecuador's largest seaport. It is renowned for its diving and sport fishing, with its characteristic Black and Blue Marlin reaching even the 1,000-pound mark 🙊. The local area of San Mateo is known for having Ecuador's longest waves. Perfect for some surfing lessons! The city was selected as the site of the sixth South American Windsurfing Championship. Manta's primary business is deep-sea commercial fishing and domestic tourism. Although Manta has an advantage in the fish and tuna processing field, it also has high-rise buildings and seaside resorts, multiple shopping centres and marvelous restaurants to choose from. The city has one of Ecuador's faster developing Economies. A destination I recommend for families with children and people of all age groups. With beautiful crystal clear waters and a developing skyline in the city of Manta, a boat trip was a wonderful choice to spend our short time here and admire some of the local landmarks. I booked the tour for me and my parents through the local company called Wonderlust (click here to contact them) . I first heard of them through one of my cousins who had sailed with them as well. When I contacted them I couldn't believe how marvelous and incredibly personalized experiences they offered for such astounding prices. They have a wide selection of lunch, dinner and snack menus for you to choose from was well as offering water activities such as snorkeling, swimming, waterskiing and windsurfing! You can opt for any hour of the day that works best for you. You'll get the most charming and luscious sailboat all to yourself ! We started our tour from Manta's yatchclub, where everything from extravagant yatchs, to tiny fishing boats can be spotted! We were greated by our captain and his assistant, who would then make our experience beyond memorable! They were incredibly kind and made sure to cater to all of our needs! My mum, as usual, completed the splendid scene in a smashing coral maxi dress and accessories to match! (Click here to shop) I, on the other hand, opted for a sailor style look, in linen shorts and a white Curdoroy blazer. Click here for my the blue and white striped shirt Click here for the shorts Click here for the blazer Click here for the belt Click here for the red scarf Click here for the espadrille wedges (similar) Upon boarding, we were immediatly treated to some marvelous crystal clear waters and breathtaking views of the harbour, the city and its beaches! And without hesitation, dad was first to head over to the stern of the boat for some much needed Vitamin D. The light ocean breeze was beyond captivating. I was soon to join as soon as I changed into my swimwear! Just in time for some food and drinks! (Click here for my bikini) Aboard we enjoyed the most fresh local shrimp ceviche. In Ecuador, ceviche is made with various types of local shellfish, such as black clam, oysters, spondilus, barnacles, among others. It is served in a bowl with toasted corn kernels as a side dish along with fried green plantains or thinly sliced plantains (plantain chips), called “chifles” and pop corn are also typical ceviche side dishes. We also had a nice fresh salad made for us including artichokes, mushrooms, red peppers, marinated broccoli, spring onions and sesame seeds. And what could not miss, locally grown mangoes, pineapples, and fresh coconut water! Let me tell you, Ecuador's fruit game is just insane. And I don't say this lightly! When we were driving on the way here I saw the biggest and brightest papayas, mangoes and coconuts I have ever seen in my life! With Ecuador's position right on the Equator, it means the country is the closest to the sun! The perfect place to catch a lovely tan! But beware to use sunscreen as well to avoid any unwanted burns ! Waves crashing and crystal clear waters as we sail into the pacific. After some time in my swimsuit, I changed into my favorite white flowy dress (Click here to shop) Perfect some that cool tropical ocean breeze. As I was walking around the bow of the ship I climbing up and down, I felt like I was a movie character hitting the tides bound for a new adventure and perhaps on my way to discover a new continent or build a life in a deserted island! You know what they say... The tans will fade but memories will last forever ! 😊
Ahoy ! everyone and thank you so much for reading !
