Prep time: 20 minutes
Servings : 3-4 persons
I have to say, there are few things in life I enjoy more than staying home on a foggy, rainy Sunday, eating my favourite French toast with a nice cuppa! I've sure been making this recipe for as long as I can remember ! We just knew it was a special day when my dad would whip up a badge as my mum and I would sit by the coffee table asking for more!

Today I thought would be a time to finally share this beloved recipe! That's incredibly easy as well!

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf of French brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • Grated peels of 2-3 oranges (depends how zesty you like it!)
  • 1/2 cup Italian Amaretto
  • 2 tbsp of butter for frying
  • Maple syrup or honey to top
  • Orange wedges for decorating !

Note: Alcohol Evaporates when cooking, but that special enhancing taste remains ! So you'll be able to serve it to your children no problem!
Method
First up, cut your brioche into thick slices (about 1 inch) and set aside.
Next, in a medium bowl, beat 4 eggs with a whist until completely incorporated.
This will take about a minute.

Grate your oranges and add the peels into the mixture.
Mix them thoroughly and pour in the Amaretto.

After buttering up a pan over medium heat, soak each one of your bread slices into the mixture!
Fry your French Toast for about 2-3 minutes on each side, they'll be ready once they're golden brown!

Enjoy with your favourite toppings! I love using Maple syrup!
