Pecan Pie is one of my favorite desserts of all time!! I've been making it with my mom for as long as I can remember and it has become an autumnal tradition in our family. After years of changing and bettering it, we have finally come up with a really easy and fool-proof recipe to share with you guys today! We hope you enjoy both baking it and eating it as much as we do!

Serves 8-10 approx.
Prep time about an hour.

Pie Crust
  • 300g of flour
  • 150g of powdered sugar
  • 150g of butter (chopped into small squares)
Pie Filling
  • 200g pecans
  • 175g of maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g of butter
  • 85g of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
Method
  • For the pie crust, mix all 3 ingredients in a bowl until you get a homogenous mixture. Let cool at room temperature for an hour.
  • Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and place on the pie mold. Poke it with a fork to keep it from expanding in the oven. Cool in the fridge whilst making the pie filling.
  • For the filling, in a bowl mix the butter, sugar, eggs, syrup and vanilla. Once this is mixed add the pecans (crushed) and save 20-30 of them for the top of the pie.
  • Place the pie filling into the pie crust and then top with the pecans (just like you can see in the photos)
  • Place it in the oven at 190 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes, keeping in mind that you need to cover the pie with aluminum foil for the last 15 minutes to avoid burning the top.
