Mitte, Berlin, Germany I flew to Berlin to meet with my father as he was there on a business trip. We opted for an outdoors and relaxed environment for lunch at one of our favorite Berlin Hotels. Bear in mind that due to seasons, Summer Lounge Orange opens only from May to September. Meaning we were just on time to enjoy the restaurant and its outdoors. The Regents is a five star deluxe hotel, located right in the heart of Berlin's Mitte district, offers a variety of upscale dinning options including Charlotte & Fritz Restaurant, a Michelin star restaurant set in a stylish and classical ambiance, The Regents Bar, ideal for cocktails and business meetings, Tea and Lobby Lounge, relaxed boutique style lobby area perfect for afternoon tea, and last but not least, Summer Lounge Orange which will be addressed in this piece. Let me just say, when it comes to dinning, this Hotel certainly lives up to its name and reputation. As you may have already noticed by the photos, the lounge is centered on the French Champagne house of Veuve Cliquot and its yellow/orange colour complimented by lush palm trees, giving it its bright and summery ambiance! Perfect to escape the city's urban scene and hustle and bustle. Despite it being in the city centre of Berlin, it is surprisingly quiet and relaxing. The restauntant's menu features a variety of food including gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches and vegetarian options. I can confirm that the Summer Lounge's specialty is their alcohol and cocktails; they have a 20 page menu exclusively for these. I opted for something more traditional and ordered a glass of Veuve Cliquot Rosé Champagne whilst my father opted for a glass of Argentinian Malbec.
Even though the dessert section is quite limited, I can recommend their rich chocolate mousse with berries and a raspberry coulis as well as their creme brûlée and creme of coffee and vanilla.
