Repeat After me: "I deserve new shoes" |
If you've been following me on social media, you probably know how a lot of the pieces I'm wearing are designed by me (I don't make them myself, I have everything tailor made). However, even though a lot of what I'm wearing can't be linked, there are so many ways to find inspiration from them in various aspects. Remember that inspiration comes from a world of different places. You just need to know how to use that in your favor 😉. I aim to create looks for you to be inspired by in terms of combining certain colours, styles, prints and accessories together. This doesn't necessarily mean go out and buy new stuff but to take any piece you already have in your closet and have some fun with it! After all, fashion is about creativity and not about breaking the bank! Bellow you'll be able to find some of the main outfits I wore on my trip to Budapest and were to find some very similar pieces ! Look # 1This one to me was about the blues. Dark navy blue for the dress, bright peacock blue for the shoes and a silky headband with touches of light blue, beige and gold to go with the bag and earrings. Get the look Look # 2For this outfit, I wanted to have some fun with pastels and went with two opposite colours that work brilliantly together: pink and blue. This is one of my no. 1 style tips. If you want to make a statement, without being too bold or flashy, compline opposite colours. It works every time. Get the look Look #3Gosh I need more printed skirts! In this scenario, the skirt was without a doubt front and center. It's got the colours, wide cut and a very rich pattern. The rule is simple, you go light on the accessories and stick to the skirt's already very present color hues. As you can see, I only added white and light blue with very minimal jewels! Get the look look #4Nothing says summer like stripes! Specially yellow ones! This is a dress I bought at TopShop last spring and am only wearing now😱 Shocking. I know. Anyway, the dress itself with it's puffy sleeves and Spanish style ruffles, is already cheerful and eye-catching enough to not need a world of accessories. All I had to do was introduce a third colour. And if we use my previously stated opposites rule, then turquoise was the reasonable choice. My first instinct? Turquoise shoes and some earrings to match. Voila! Get the look Look # 5This outfit was one that I wore to a meeting that morning, hence the more traditional office tartan and blouse. But with a fun twist of course! When you think of corporate attire, you immediately think blacks, whites and grays. Remember you can totally rock a turquoise blouse with a statement bow and look every inch professional. Other blouse color options I would have opted for in this case would have been, orange, red or emerald green. Get the look Look # 6For my final look I clearly wanted to make my surroundings justice. Here I am starting in a place that has gotten itself a reputation as the world's most beautiful cafe. I could not just show up in some shorts and a t-shirt! It was still daytime so I couldn't go with something too dark and serious, let alone a long dress. So my satin baby blue off the shoulder dress was the perfect fit. With the lightness of the dress and my complexion, I just had to add black accessories for some much needed balance; and don't forget about the belt, always look for ways to accentuate the waist. Get the look Thank you very much for making it to the end of this post! I hope you enjoyed hearing some of the planning that went behind these outfits and decide to replicate one of them yourself sometime !
